iPadOS: the Microsoft Office app will offer to doodle with the Apple Pencil

In the future, the function doodle (scribble in VO) on iPadOS could be much more intuitive and provide users with more possibilities. Meanwhile, in the latest beta of Microsoft Office for iPad, Microsoft offers some nice new features with support for handwriting with Apple Pencil.

The latter will allow Insert and edit text in a Word document, PowerPoint presentation, or Excel spreadsheet using the pointed pen. Under iPadOS, it is possible to automatically convert your handwriting into typed text. To do this, you must first activate recognition via Settings > Apple Pencil, then click on the button Scribble under the Drawing tab of version 2.64.

At this time, the feature can only be tested by members of the Office Insider program via TestFlight. But the update should probably be released on the App Store for everyone in the coming weeks. As a reminder, doodle was added in iPadOS 14 for any iPad compatible with Apple Pencil 2 (iPad Pro, iPad Air 4, iPad mini 6) or Apple Pencil 1 (iPad Pro, iPad Air 3, iPad mini 5, iPad 6).
