A second more comfortable version

At first glance, nothing changes between the previous models and the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro. They keep their rounded format, but are in fact 15% more compact than the first models. The same goes for weight, as each earbud weighs 5.5g on the scale, compared to 6.3g for previous models.

They offer good passive isolation, all reinforced by active noise reduction. According to the brand, the three external microphones provided for this purpose are more effective than on the first Buds Pro of the name. Overall, it’s successful, but it struggles to convince in the face of increasingly aggressive competition. As for the Transparency mode, it will allow you to stay tuned to your environment.

New features

This second iteration mainly brings a new codec “hi-fi” named SSC Hi-Fi, for Samsung Seamless Codec Hi-Fi. the SBC. On the other hand, to take advantage of it, you will need to be equipped with a Samsung smartphone that runs on version 4 of One UI.

Samsung also makes its headphones compatible with 360-degree audio and with virtualization in 5.1 or 7.1 if you listen to or watch compatible content. As for autonomy, Samsung announces up to five hours of use with active noise reduction and up to 18 hours thanks to the case. Without active noise reduction, the autonomy can then increase to 8 hours with the headphones alone and 29 hours with the case charged. The case of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is also compatible with Qi wireless charging by induction.
